Starbucks/Movember

7 11 2008

I found this video via Wezlo, a pastor from the other side of the states that I’ve never met.  It is an entertaining video asking the question “what if Starbucks marketed like the church?”

Also, my cousins Dan and Tom are doing this event called Movember, where they grow mustaches to raise money for Prostate Cancer research, specifically stopping cancer, and not proliferating it.  I donated some money to their cause and got this sweet picture in return!

good German blood

7 08 2008

On the subject of awesomeness, I was talking to my friend Jonba about Colville and my cousins up here.  I told him that we were all of good German blood and good workers and fairly athletic(I am by far the least athletic).

On this Jonba told me he had a ridiculous image in his head, which I think is entertaining enough to share.  He said he pictured 6 people who look exactly like me, wearing leiderhosen, and hanging out in a gym.  We were all either bench pressing kegs, or running in our leiderhosen on treadmills.

Pretty accurate description eh? :)

Spokaloo

Today I make the trek from Colville to Spokane and back.  This is the second time I’ve done it in 3 days.  I get the feeling that I would drive a lot more if I lived here permanently, which is really no different from growing up in Hartline.

I’m meeting with two guys today, one is my friend Brent, to talk about the ministry stuff that he is doing.  The second is my friend Rob, to talk about church planting and Christian Associates(the network we are most likely affiliating with).

One of the great things about being with family is the sudden realization of “oh you can pick stuff up for me on your trip!” I now have a burgeoning list of things to be accomplished during my trip, which is fine with me!

Well my friends, I hit the road.  Perhaps I will share stories of my journeys tonight…. But probably not… maybe…

Losing brayne sells

One of the great things about working for Hachisoft is that almost everyone I work with is related. We have a tendency to travel in packs when we take breaks and strange jokes fly around a lot. Kristen is also working for hachisoft which adds to the family feel.

One of the things that we enjoi as a family is teasing each other and picking on each other a lot. It’s all in good fun and usually quite entertaining. Yesterday was one of those days where we all started picking on Kristen and she’s very good at reacting like she is really getting picked on to draw sympathy.

Yesterday in one of her sympathy drawing moments Mandee and I realized that if Hachisoft was the office, Kristen would be Dwight. I have attached a picture to illustrate this, but I’m also going to give you an interaction!

Kristen:I’m listening to the wall street journal podcast and learning about the FDA!
Me:laughing
Kristen:I’m getting smarter here! You’re just losing brain cells.
